Y4IT 2018

Who: BSIT and BSCS Students
What: 16th Youth Congress Information Technology
When: September 25, 2018 (Day 2)
Where: UP Diliman, Quezon City

The annual and 16th Youth Congress on Information Technology known as Y4IT was conducted last September 24 - 26 , 2018 at UP Theatre, University of the Philippines - Diliman, located at Quezon City, Philippines. The Gordon College CCS joined the second day of Y4IT 2018. Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4IT) is an annual event for information technology and any computer related courses in the Philippines. This kind of seminars can be a comfortable, open environment for practicing professional communication techniques.

The assembly time of the students and instructors of Gordon College CCS was 3:30am in Ministop, located at Rizal Avenue, Olongapo City. It was around 4:15am when we started  going to UP - Diliman and around 8:30am arrived to UP - Diliman.

Before we going out the bus Sir Melner Balce distribute the Y4IT ID's to the students and  Before we enter the said event all 4th year BSIT students taking some pictures with Sir Felizardo Bello and Sir Melner Balce. There are so many schools that participated and join this year's Y4IT and Gordon College is one of those schools that participated the event. This is very exciting event and the place and the venue is so great. The UP Theatre is also great, the ambiance, the seats, the lightings and sound systems, it is so amazing and beautiful.

Some guest speakers in Y4IT are:
1. Trevor Hansen from Amazon Web Services
2. Debra Estero from Optum that discussed about health system's infrastructure
3.  Mary Grace Mirandilla-Santos - Better Brodband Alliance and discussed the possible rules and laws regarding the internet service in the Philippines.

And last but not the least, the last part of the event, the group of students from Gordon College called BuKo (BuhayKomyuter) Best in Presentaion and Pitching presented their last year's Y4IT research summit.

I think my only suggestion is the improvements of the event is to invite more and also international speakers that can motivate the IT and CS Students and next year Y4IT event they must add some food and drinks. And also they must add Wi-Fi connection to the venue.
